The Mind

The mind of a human being is like a chaotic market with hawkers shouting and hustling you to buy.

It is like a nightclub at midnight when everyone is drunk and the music is too loud.

It is like an inconsolable infant in the dead of night. A flickering security light. The neighbour’s dog that won’t stop barking.

A song stuck on repeat. A blaring car alarm that won’t stop. A conversation that never ends.

The mind is a circus full of clowns. Like a political rally.

It is never silent. It is pandemonium.

It only quiets down when the human being dies.

Or when he stops taking it so seriously.
