Pathfinder

A story is told of two men who were walking in a dirt road at night.

One man had a lantern that lit the path. The other man did not have a lantern but was helped by the other man’s light to see the path.

After walking together for some distance, they reached a junction where the road divided into two opposite directions.

The man with the lantern was headed to the left turn while the man without was headed towards the right.

So, the man with the lantern went his way with his light. And the one without was left in darkness.

The options are plain; to take the other man’s path, the path that is lit, feels safe and is clear.

Or take his own path, the path that is dark, scary and murky.

One can be a follower in another man’s path or be a leader in his own path.

Another man’s path is lit and popular, with a known end.

One’s own path is dark and lonely, with an unknown end.

If we take another man’s path, someone will take us there,

If we choose to take our own path, no one will take us there.

We have a choice to make ;

To tread where other men have trodden,

Or find our own path and blaze a trail.

Life is life
