Safety or Freedom

Some wild animals get captured and are put in a zoo or animal orphanages for the amusement of humans.

Observing the caged beasts, one wonders if the animals are lucky or unlucky? Are they happy or unhappy?

One may argue that the animals are happy because they get to enjoy free meals and round the clock veterinary services. Indeed, they are safer in the cage and have a longer lifespan in captivity than in the wild.

But someone else would argue that the price they pay is much greater than the benefits they accrue from living in captivity.

A lion in a cage cannot be king of the jungle.

A confined cheetah cannot hit top speeds.

A caged monkey cannot climb trees. Neither can a caged bird float in the sky.

Even a captured hyena cannot do fisi things.

Safety or Freedom.

There is always a price.

Life is life
