The savage and the civilised
The savage is wild, creative and instinctive
The civilised is tame, conventional and restrained
The savage desires to taste the nectar
The civilised is okay with flavoured water
The savage longs for freedom, the civilised seeks safety
The savage relishes solitude, the civilised enjoys company
The savage desires to live, the civilised wants to survive
Every day, the two animals jostle, each vying to command the body.
