Every morning when we wake up. We slide into a gentle coma.
Routine chores, petty distractions and trivial pursuits are the carbon monoxide that slowly lulls us into a stupor.
Occasionally, we get a rescusitation. Through the birth of a loved one, the death of a loved one, the start of a relationship or the end of a relationship.
In such moments, we may awaken for a moment. But soon enough, we drift back into the coma.
We spend most of our days in a vegetative state. And Life slips through our fingers.
Then one day our knees start squeaking and everyone calls us “wee mzee”.
Then we wonder, where did all the years go?
