The cursed man

A man stretches out his hand to the world expecting an embrace.

But instead, he gets a kick in the teeth.

He does “good” expecting a reward in return. But he gets a slap in the face instead.

He keeps looking over the horizon hoping for a saviour to come rescue him.

But a boat full of bandits arrives and robs him of whatever few supplies he has left.

He stands in line, waiting for his turn. But people keep jumping the queue.

And when his turn comes, the door slammed in his face.

Cursed is the man who expects anything from the world.

Life is life
