Every day, when night falls, I ask myself what have I done with my day.
After careful examination, I invariably arrive at the same conclusion, that I have wasted it. Then I swear to myself that tomorrow I will do better.
The following morning, I embark on the plans of the day with gusto. But at the end of the day, I still realise that truly, I have wasted my day.
I think my indolence is some kind of talent. The way I manage to waste my days is nothing short of an art. It’s one of my greatest accomplishments.
My time-wasting proficiency should be entered in the Guinness book of world records. No, not really, I hear those Guinness guys don’t pay people for setting records. So I am aiming higher. The guys in Sweden.
I deserve to win a Nobel Prize for Indolence. Creative indolence. I will be paid millions and become famous and get invited as keynote speaker in conferences and make a fortune teaching people how to waste their days in style.
You see, unlike those other Nobel Laureates who spun complex theories, I will actually teach people something simple and beneficial.
I know you are curious and want me give you a hint or a five-step plan on how to creatively waste your day.
Very well, since you insist, though I want to patent my formula first, I am a generous guy and will not leave you empty handed.
I’ll give you something to keep you going until my secret sauce is officially patented.
Now, if you have read through this whole piece.
Well, congratulations.
You are now a certified practitioner of Creative Indolence.
